The primary focus of the AML Assistant Manager will be to actively manage the BAU/Registration function within the AML team and to support the AML Manager in the overall management of the AML unit. The AML Assistant Manager will work closely with the AML Manager in managing resources and service delivery on behalf of the unit. The AML Assistant Manager will support the AML Manager in relation to all project work, transitions and non-BAU activities.


Responsibilities

  • Managing the BAU/Registration function within the AML team

  • Assisting the AML Manager with the overall management of the AML team

  • Facilitating and ensuring good communications between the Registrations Team and other departments, in particular the Transfer Agency team to ensure the timely resolution of any investor queries and/or registration related issues

  • Prepare/oversee production and release of monthly AML information reports for internal MIS,  client fund boards, and other third parties as necessary

  • Represent CFAI and present  quarterly reports to client fund boards as required  and manage the timely response to queries arising

  • Act as primary contact for all external MLROs

  • Work with the AML Manager to manage and coordinate all site visits performed by Depositories, external auditors, clients etc.

  • Assist with the implementation of any new legislation and regulations incl enforcing AML standards and procedures

    Monitoring workload levels and staff performance within AML team escalating any concerns to the AML Manager as well as daily monitoring of AML Sanctions / PEP screening, including the review of periodic EU financial sanctions notices from the Central Bank of Ireland

  • Maintain up to date with any regulatory changes as they pertain to AML/CTF
  • Manage the supervision and training requirements of the AML including provision of feedback on developmental needs
  • Represent the AML team at industry related seminars, presentations and working groups


Requirements

- 5+ years’ relevant work related experience in financial services (fund administration) with focus on AML / Registration.
- Expert knowledge of AML legislation in Ireland as applying to CAS  and its client funds as regulated collective investment schemes domiciled in Ireland, BVI and Cayman Island
- Strong awareness and understanding of the potential risks posed to the CAS specific to AML/CFT
- Practical working experience of the Registration/Account opening function within AML
- Have strong investigative skills, to include excellent communication skills - verbal and written
- Requires excellent analytical skills, experience in strategic planning and have high level of attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills, initiative, self-drive and ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
- Self-motivated and have ability to liaise with senior management, regulators, and third parties
